SCI- 12/10-12/14

Monday: We will finish and discuss our classification process. (6.5.3)
Tuesday:  Students will take a quiz over classification. After the quiz we will begin Chapter 5 by completing the Start-up activity on page 111. (6.8.2)Wednesday: Students will complete ThinkLink test 2.  AFter the test, students will have time to type their purpose, hypothesis, materials list, and procedure for their science fair project.

Thursday: Discuss section 1 of chapter 5. Students will then organize information on relative dating into a tab booklet. The tab booklet will consist of: definitions, superposition, geologic column, disturbances, unconformities, and types of unconformities. The students will have to label, explain and illustrate each tab. (6.6.1, 6.6.2)

Team 6-B
Burial Tomb project is assigned. This will be due Monday of next week.
Monday:Students will continue to work on their illustrations of the burial, death, afterlife, and/or mummification process of ancient Egypt. They will also have to write a paragraph explaining their picture.

Tuesday: Students will finish their picture and turn it in. When done, they will complete a handout on King Tut.

Wednesday: Students completed a handout to review Sumerians. Mrs. Itayem came in and spoke about Egypt.

Thursday: Students will check the King Tut handout and discuss. We will then discuss the chapter 3 vocabulary words and complete 2 puzzles with the vocabulary words.

Friday: Students will complete their puzzles and check them. CH. 3 Vocabulary Test Monday!

SS-11/26-11/30

Team 6-B Lessons: Below reflects Mrs. Walker’s plan. Beauford and Williams will do the same, but on different days.
- FInish painting murals (Monday)
- Present murals. Read and discuss Lesson 2 of chapter 3 (Tuesday)
- Research questions on Egypt on ibooks (Wednesday)
-Begin working on art project to highlight key aspects of the Egyptian civilization.
- Guidance on Friday

HW: Study ch. 3 vocabulary words. Test next week! Bring in an orange and potato for our mummification activity next week! If you don’t have one, you won’t get to participate!

SCI-12/3-12/7

Monday: Students will classify cars, movies, clothes, music, etc. based on key characterisitics. Students will break into groups to come up with their own way of classifying animals based on their prior knowledge. We will share and discuss. (6.5.3)
Tuesday: Students will watch the classification videos on Brainpop and the internet. We will then begin our conceptual model of how the animals break down by starting with vertebrates and inveterbrates. We will use a class packet to help us with key characteristics. (6.5.3)
Wednesday: We will break down each large group into the smaller ones. Then students will practice writing TCAP questions based on these characteristics. (6.5.3)  Experiment portion due for Science Fair.  Workbook pages 15-18 due today!

Thursday: Students will go outside to attempt to classify visible organisms. We will then go inside and rotate to each station to classify organims preserved in a jar. (6.5.3)
Friday: Students will practice taxonomy by classifying “Creepy Critters.” (6.5.3)
