Monday: Students will review chapter 5. TEST TOMORRW! HW: Study ch. 5. Geologic time scale due Thursday.Tuesday: Students will take the chapter 5 test.HW: Geologic time scale due Thursday.Wednesday: Students will start space by focusing on gravity and the scientists Brache, Kepler, and Newton. Students will complete the “Strange Gravity” activity on page 201.HW: Geologic time scale due tomorrow!Thursday: Students will discuss planetary motion on page 207-210. Geologic time scales will be turned in at the beginning of class.

Monday and Tuesday: ALL SCIENCE FAIR PROJECTS ARE DUE TODAY!!! NO EXCEPTIONS. STudents will present to the class their findings from their science fair project.Wednesday and Thursday: Students will compose a geologic time scale with fossils.Friday: Students will complete an activity called “Forever and a Day” to reinforce the geologic time scale. QUiz Monday on section 5 of chapter 5.

Monday: STudents will have a quiz over Mrs. Platania’s procedures. 1st and 2nd period will complete an absolute dating activity using beads. 3rd period will review absolute dating for a quiz tomorrow.HW: Science Fair projects due Monday, Feb. 4th. Don’t forget extra credit! Monday: Martin Luther King Day! No school!Tuesday: WE will discuss other types of government and compose a skit on one of the types. When done, we will continue working on our presentations.Wednesday: Continue working in groups researching the assigned world region.Thursday: Mrs. Platania will show her presentation on North America. Continue working in groups researching the assigned world region.Friday: We will have guidance for 30 minutes. The remaining time will be spent finishing their presentations.

Monday: Martin Luther King Day! NO SCHOOL! Tuesday: First and second period will go to the lab. Third period will take a quiz over relative dating.HW: WB pgs. 36-42 due tomorrow!Science Fair Next Time component due Friday! Wednesday: Workbook pages 36-42 due. We will discuss chapter 5, section 3 on absolute dating. We will begin absolute dating and how geologists use radiometric dating to find the actual date of fossils. We will play the half-life game and view websites to show how isotopes decay. (6.6.1)Thursday: We will complete an activity on absolute dating in the class.Friday: Students will turn in their science fair “next time” component. Students will take a short quiz over absolute dating.

This week for Mrs. Walker, Mrs. Platania will take over.Students will be assigned a world region and a component of a civilization to research. Each person will contribute their research to a group powerpoint presentation to be shown to the class. This project will be done in class over the course of 10 days.This Thursday, we have Spanish for the first time. Spanish will count for 10% of the final grade.Students took a quiz over the continents and types of government this week.
