SS-2/4-2/8

Monday:Students will complete weeks 1 and 2 in the Social Studies’ newspapers covering Ancient Mesopotamia.  We will discuss and answer questions to review.Tuesday: Students will complete weeks 3 and 4 in the newspapers.  We will discuss and answer questions.Wednesday: Students will complete the Economics practice section in the Coach booklets.  We will check, review, and discuss in class.  Thursday: Students will take a test over the Economics section of the Coach booklets.  When done we will begin the Roman Empire.  Friday: Guidance scheduled from 2:05-2:35.

SS-1/28-2/1

Monday and Tuesday: Students will finish their powerpoint presentations.Wednesday and Thursday:Students will present their powerpoints on their assigned world regions.Wednesday: Students will have a test over the world regions.Thursday: SpanishFriday: Students will take a test over the world regions after reviewing key points. 

SS-1/21-1/25

Monday: Martin Luther King Day!  No school!Tuesday: WE will discuss other types of government and compose a skit on one of the types.  When done, we will continue working on our presentations.Wednesday: Continue working in groups researching the assigned world region.Thursday: Mrs. Platania will show her presentation on North America.  Continue working in groups researching the assigned world region.Friday: We will have guidance for 30 minutes.  The remaining time will be spent finishing their presentations.

SS-1/14-1/18

This week for Mrs. Walker, Mrs. Platania will take over.Students will be assigned a world region and a component of a civilization to research. Each person will contribute their research to a group powerpoint presentation to be shown to the class. This project will be done in class over the course of 10 days.This Thursday, we have Spanish for the first time. Spanish will count for 10% of the final grade.Students took a quiz over the continents and types of government this week.

Team 6-B Lessons
1. Students will present their burial tombs.
2. We will take ch. 3 test.

4. SPI(Student Performance Indicator) focal lessons (We will teach each spi that is covered on the TCAP test in order to better prepare our students) This week we will start with the Economics portion

SCI-12/17-12/20

Monday: Students will reflect on the mummification project. We will then watch Arctic Tale and apply concepts taught this semester to the documentary.
Tuesday: We will finish watching Arctic Tale and write a refelction on the video.
Wednesday and Thursday: We will play TCAP basketball!!!!

- Read and discuss lesson 4 of chapter 3.
- Take the CH. 3 Test

SS-12/10-12/14

Monday: Students will complete the ch. 3 vocabulary test. After the test, we will begin reading lesson 3 of chapter 3. We will discuss the story and get ready to create an acrostic poem on Queen Hatepshut.

Tuesday: We will begin the acrostic poem. Students will decorate the page and choose words that represent Queen Hatepshut for each letter of her name.

Wednesday: Students will watch the Brainpop on Egypt, Nile, and mummies. We will read lesson 4 and discuss. Students will complete a role playing activity.

Thursday: Complete workbook pages 18-22. We will check and discuss.

Friday: Mr. Collins comes today for Guidance.

SS-12/3-12/7

Team 6-B
Burial Tomb project is assigned. This will be due Monday of next week.
Monday:Students will continue to work on their illustrations of the burial, death, afterlife, and/or mummification process of ancient Egypt. They will also have to write a paragraph explaining their picture.

Tuesday: Students will finish their picture and turn it in. When done, they will complete a handout on King Tut.

Wednesday: Students completed a handout to review Sumerians. Mrs. Itayem came in and spoke about Egypt.

Thursday: Students will check the King Tut handout and discuss. We will then discuss the chapter 3 vocabulary words and complete 2 puzzles with the vocabulary words.

Friday: Students will complete their puzzles and check them. CH. 3 Vocabulary Test Monday!
