Space Camp Field Trip

U.S. SPACE AND ROCKET CENTER

Dear Parents,

Earth and its place in the universe is a topic that is assessed on TCAP for 6th grade science. I am taking the students on a field trip to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama on Saturday, March 8, 2008. We would leave early Saturday morning from GMS (be here at 4:00 a.m.) and return Saturday evening (around 8:00 or 9:00 p.m.). I will also need some adult chaperones. Chaperones are to ride with us. They cannot follow behind the bus and they must pay the $60 as well. The maximum number to go on the trip is 48. The price is $60.00 per person including chaperones. Students will need money for dinner (we will stop on the way home) and for any souvenirs or snacks while we are at the Space and Rocket Center.

The price includes:
- Transportation on a motor coach
- Lunch Saturday
- Guided museum and Rocket Park tour
- IMAX movie
- Live theatre show
- Games and other science activities

I know that the students would have a great time while learning, preparing for TCAP, and experiencing hands on science.

If your child is interested in going and/or you would be able to chaperone on the trip, please fill out the information attached, send this form to Mrs. Walker in an envelope with the money. ALL checks should be made out to Germantown Middle School. The money must be turned in by Friday, November 2, 2007.

SCHEDULE: (Will NOT be deviated from)
4:00 a.m. Arrive/drop off your child at Germantown Middle School
Check in with Mrs. Walker and get settled on the bus.
4:30 a.m. Depart Germantown Middle School
Breakfast will be eaten on the bus (you must bring your own)
8:30-9:00 a.m. Arrive at Space Center
We will travel as a large group with a tour guide. I have split up the students with different parents to help keep up with our group. I will send a note home to the parents when we get closer.
LUNCH- We will know when we arrive
4:00- 5:00 p.m. Depart Space Center
@ 6:00 p.m. Stop for dinner (ALL children need to have money for this)
8:00-8:30 p.m. Arrive at Germantown Middle
Make sure you are there to pick up your child
